My Catholic journey began when a friend asked if I could to help to arrange flowers for the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd and I happily agreed. After one of my floral arrangement duties, I met another friend inside the Cathedral who had been trying to contact me to inform me that the Cathedral was conducting RCIA for the first time and if I wanted to join.

I have been attending Novena and Masses for many years, but did not quite understanding the many things that were going on, only confident of our Lady’s intercessions in my prayers. It dawned on me that this would be a good opportunity to learn more about the Catholic faith. I then decided I would attend one session just to observe. At this session, she introduced me to a very warm and friendly lady who later agreed to be my sponsor, guided me in my journey, and who eventually became my godmother in Christ.

In learning much about the Catholic faith, I was convinced that together with the past experiences of the faith, I was ready for my conversion. I felt that God had sent me all these “angels” to lead me into the Catholic Church. At the Easter Vigil I was very teary and emotional after I received my First Holy Communion as a Catholic. Mother Mary has once again interceded for me for God to answer my prayers.
