Let it be Done to me According to Thy Will

From young, that is the motto of prayer that I was taught and have always placed my trust in. At the age of 3, I was taught to dedicate time to pray the rosary for the protection of the family and more importantly, to offer up the petitions and conversion of the whole world. My family was the example of how Mother Mary had formed my faith at a young age as she guides me in ways only she will know. Such innocence had touched even the young of heart like myself. However, this was only but the start of everything that Mother Mary had wanted me to do.

Soon, these words reached out to even a greater calling from my mother, “Who is she that comes forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array?” At the age of 11, I first encountered her Legion at the Junior Legion Praesidium back at the Church of St Stephen through my family. Little did I know that this ministry of hers does not only include praying the rosary and prayers.

I am the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me according to your will

Indeed, our Lady has come forth as the morning rising as she is always reassuring me in my life that she is present, especially in my other ministry works in the servers and youth when I could feel her just being beside me, supporting me and guiding me in what I do. Moreover, her fairness like the moon and brightness like the sun was being felt when I had done my contact work, inspiring me and guiding me on my journey in school.

In my heart, I know that it was the work of Mother Mary as she uses me to spread her light to the people whom I have met. Lastly, the more miraculous work of Mother Mary, where she appears terrible as an army set in battle array. The battle with the Devil is real and many times as I encounter him, it is through the graces of Mother Mary and her motherly protection that kept me safe from the clutches of the Devil. There was an incident where I was at a rosary session. As the rosary was being recited, many who were weeping and crying surrounded me. At that point, the Devil was trying to shake my faith so that I would falter. However, the presence of Mother Mary had indeed affirmed my faith. I felt her as she waltzed pass the room, picking up her wounded children and reassuring them. Then, she gazed and smiled at me before leaving. Indeed, this was Mother Mary showing that she is with me all this while.

Now at 18 years of age, I believe that Mother Mary has led me closer in faith journey towards Jesus. The Legion of Mary plays an even greater role in affirming me as I continue to be but an unworthy servant in this call of mission and evangelisation. Truly, Mother Mary is a greatest intercessor of all. Concluding, I would just like to express these words that I have made since young and will continue to make just as Mother Mary did.

“I am the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me according to your will”. Amen!
