Looking Through My Lens

Looking Through My Lens

They say, “A picture is worth a thousand words”.

Alan had been a photographer for many years, with his pictures having been featured in magazines like Her World, Home and Decor, and those alike.

In the final stages of his life, Alan encourages us to love one another selflessly.

Live your life to the fullest because you only have one life.

In this video, Alan had been diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), an “unkind sickness”, as there is no cure for it. While it might be easy for one facing such a situation to be discouraged and dismayed, Alan did not allow the illness to determine the way in which he lived. He continued to serve the Lord by capturing meaningful images, even while he resided at the Assisi Hospice.

As he fought the illness, Alan shared with us his journey as a photographer, and how he had encountered one blessing even amidst the challenge in his health – encountering God.

With wisdom and introspectivity, Alan also shared with us the great insights that he realised after being diagnosed with COPD. He tells us to stop fighting, and to “love unselfishly, without reservations. Because people need love”.
